This was my first time hosting on a Thursday afternoon, in a slightly more European-friendly time slot, and I think it went well. I don’t have dates yet, but I’ll be adding more calls like this.
I found this call particularly invigorating, and I liked that we began the discussion (and often came back to) the topic of greatness, the metric Arendt uses to evaluate action. Action is a peculiar sort of activity, wrapped up in the project of building a life together.
Thanks to everyone who participated — I like The Human Condition more after this conversation, and I look forward to finishing it up this month. Then we’re moving on to the late, great Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Dispossessed. I’ll have a schedule for that ready by next week.
