I’m starting to think about the book we’ll read together after the Meditations. I’d love to hear thoughts and suggestions. I’m considering either Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics or (as a curveball) the Tao Te Ching.
Aristotle's Ethics first, but please please please do Tao Te Ching as a follow-up, perhaps, even...compare ancient Greek thought and ancient Chinese Taoist thought, see if there are subtle overlaps? I've always found that there were, and am very interested because i don't think the two cultures had much contact with one another...
I definitely think the Tao Te Ching would be fascinating. I specifically love Ursula Le Guin’s translation of it. I try and read through it at least once a year.
Between the two my preference would be for Aristotle--think I would get more out of it. Would also be interested in Aristotle's Eudemian Ethics if only to understand why it seems to be relatively ignored compared to the Nicomachean Ethics. Also want to see you take on The Epicurus Reader but I have been on that soapbox too much already. :)
I vote for Aristotle. I read the Tao te Ching every day, but we'll spend too much time arguing over translations. The Ethics can be a bit dry and having a wise and engaged teacher helps immeasurably.

Tao Te Ching! I welcome an educated person’s opinion about a topic that we don’t hear that much about in the West.
Aristotle, please.
Tao Te Ching
I’m partial to Aristotle but I know nothing about Tao Te Ching so I welcome either.

Would love to go through the Summa Theologica, or something by St. Thomas Aquinas ! Tao Te Ching would be great as well though.
I am reading Scorched Earth by Jonathan Crary
Ethics first
No wrong answer hear :) I suppose Aristotle as he is more foundational to the perspective of the Channel/Community.
Tao Te Ching
Tao Te Ching
I would be happy with any <3

Ethics would be good
I'm intending on reading Nicomachean Ethics after Meditations. It would be a solid opportunity to study it with a group and Jared at the helm.
Aristotle please.
On your excellent recommendation I am reading Nicomachean Ethics at the moment and that is my pick.
I would prefer Aristotle.
Aristotle or Plato please
I haven’t read the Nicomachean Ethics since college so would definitely vote for revisiting that book.

Plato Dialogs!
